weird, haven't taken a look at this thing in awhile...
life in bloomington is swell. my new house is the jam and my friends here are even jammier. but i do wish all of my lovies out in san francisco would move back to the midwest and live near me until i get out of school. i misssss those kids a whole lot.
instead of going to micro, i'd like to stay home and cut out patterns or maybe go to the lake today.
i'm itching for another big change. i'm looking for an opportunity... |

this year's family portrait. merry christmas.
my little baby nephew came just in time for the thanksgiving feast, and i will be soo excited to bring him along when i do my christmas shopping. this season is extra special- my heart is so full of scriptures and mary oliver poems and lovelovelove. i'm also very ready to get my christmas baking underway. i want to make all sorts of lovely pastries and things... i even have plans for a homemade gingerbread house.
we're going back to vermont in january- those snowy mountain towns feel like home. |

it's good to be home.
although working 40hrs a week is obnoxious, it's nice being able to spend all other free time with matthew. the zoo is our spot, and lately we've been working on our kite flying skills (he is actually better than me). we have plans to visit the newport aquarium soon, and there's a full list of bluegrass festivals that we'd like to attend this summer. i love that he enjoys doing the very same things i like to do. he's so lovely.
also, i may be traveling to california to visit jill after my sister's wedding in july. i really want to make that happen. |

so i am moving home today, and it happens to be my birthday. packing up is the only plan for today, other than lunch with jill and her mom... hopefully i will enjoy a cupcake at some point in between.
i'm just thrilled to be going home- i miss my penguin. |

big things are happening, and i should take note.
my sister is getting married in july and is also expecting a baby.
i will move back home in nearly 2 weeks, and my best friend will be moving back to california for the summer... but we are moving into our dream home together next fall.
i am in lovelovelove and i am confident this feeling is going to last for a very, very long time. no one could make me happier than he does.
lastly, my birthday is coming up and it will be spent with my best friends and family. there will also be lots of flowers and cake.
my life is lovely and it will stay this way. |

last friday, jonathan and i curled up in my window sill like little kittens and napped in the sunshine. afterwards, we played tennis for about an hour, but we quit when we realized we just weren't very good. things get a little hazy after we had dinner with jill, but i know a bunch of us went to the lake that night and played on the swingset.
jill met my family on saturday. we indulged in some yumyum cobbler and birthday cake. we also had our first sleepover that night. sunday, on our way back to school, we listened to a lot of hanson and 2gether.
today would've been perfect for a picnic with cupcakes and a game of croquet. we'll have to do that sometime in the spring. i would also like to go fishing. |

being completely honest, the sigur ros show was the most amazing experience of my life.
also, i spoke to an advisor yesterday and i have 2 classes left to finish my psych minor. however, i have roughly 3 years of schooling left and 1 year internship to complete a BS in dietetics... THEN grad school for nutrition science. looks like i'll be here for awhile.
i'm very excited to have jill at home with me this weekend. she'll be meeting my family, like we're engaged to be married.
i'm also looking forward to:
seeing Eisley April 11th in indy,
and making this over spring break.

i was just in the elevator with a beautiful, beautiful boy (whom I have never met before), and he was sharing with me his grief over not having a valentine. i didn't say anything other than 'join the club' and without even realizing it, I gave him a very snotty "good luck with that" as i was getting off the elevator.
oops.
if the circumstances were any different, i'd be baking the loveliest lemon poppyseed mini bundt cakes (heart shaped, of course) for everyone i care about.

today jill and i signed the lease for an apartment at Smallwood on College-- the place we've wanted since we both came to bloomington. hardwood kitchen floor and stainless steel appliances! we plan on having the shabby chic theme in every corner of the place. it's a dreeeaaam. |

only good things have happened to me this last week... and NONE of it was a coincidence.
i'm finally getting very settled in here. classes are a bit intense, but i expected that. my friend jill and i have made a rushed decision to live together next fall. apartment business is on our minds constantly and the sooner we find something, the better off we'll be.
aside from that, no big news. i'm just very thankful i like it here now. |

this weekend i escaped and spent most of my time with bridget and russell.
i also found tremendous strength in the lyrics of Pat Benatar songs.
and finally, i made the most divine "warm winter lemon cake." it was absolutely Dreamy. using my pink kitchenaid mixer was actually a therapeutic experience.
i'm going back up to school tomorrow, for real this time. i really just needed to take some time to get my wits about me.
i'm a little bit everywhere right now, but i have the feeling that one of these days i'll finally get all "scooped up." |

christmas was very good to me. santa brought me all the things i asked for, including a new cell phone, a pearl necklace and earrings, diamond bracelet, and the pink kitchenaid electric food mixer from williams-sonoma that i've been eyeing for a very long time. lovely!
and now i'm in a mad rush to get everything packed up for the family trip to vermont and the move to bloomington. i have nearly 2 full days to get all snowboard related items packed in suitcases, and everything else i own packed in boxes. the fun never stops...

so i visited Jared this weekend and the whole experience was centered around pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin ice cream, and pumpkin pie.
other highlights include:
+ being greeted with a bottle of wine
+ cody
+ catchphrase
+ DOMO
+ more wine
+ more cody
+ jorie (and her jumper cables)
+ lots of jared
i've started a christmas list but all that i've got on it so far is an electric hand food mixer (in olive, terra cotta, or mustard) from williams-sonoma and a new digital camera. i'm thinking a pearl necklace would also be a nice item... just a few thoughts.
also, i've registered for spring classes at Bloomington, got tickets for the my morning jacket show on the 23rd, and purchased all new snowboard equipment so that i'm set for the Vermont trip when it happens... all very, very good things.
speaking of good things, grey's anatomy will be on very soon... mmmmm dr. Mcdreamy <3 |

emotionally unavailable seems to be the story of my life.
it's cool though, i've got bigger plans.
i guess it's no secret anymore- i'm moving to IU in the spring.
i'm the most impulsive person i can think of.
